Italian Greyhound

This elegant and graceful little Greyhound in miniature has a long history as a favourite of royalty and pet of the nobility. (Even Cleopatra owned one of these delightful little creatures).

The Italian Greyhound has always been greatly prized for his beauty, diminutive size and sweet disposition. Although giving the impression of being fragile, the breed is actually very hardy although he prefers living with older, gentle children or adults. He enjoys exercise and outdoor activity, and will delight in chasing small game given half a chance. He moves with a characteristic high-stepping prance, and remains playful long past puppyhood.

The Italian Greyhound is adaptable to both city and country living, and occupies so little space that he can usually accompany his owner everywhere. He has a very loving disposition and thrives best when this affection is reciprocated. His smooth coat and low body fat gives him no protection from the cold and he adores the comfort of home, where he is well known for his appreciation of all of life's little luxuries.
